About Us

The UCSD Writing Center was launched in 2012 as an initiative of the Council of Provosts to serve all six of the university’s undergraduate colleges. We support students who are writing papers in the Basic Writing program (SDCC 1-4), the college writing programs, and all academic disciplines. Individual assistance is provided by undergraduate peer mentors who have been carefully selected on the basis of their writing skills and their ability to communicate with their fellow students. We can help with a range of issues including essay development, clarity, organization, argumentation, citation, and revision. However, we will not do your reading, thinking, or writing for you, and we cannot help with specific course content. If you have questions about readings or lectures, we urge you to see your professor or TA; students in the college writing programs are encouraged to seek assistance from program staff.

Announcements

The Writing Center will be closed for Finals Week. Our last day of services will be Friday, June 7.
