Group workshops are conducted by the Writing Center director, addressing a variety of writing tasks, issues, and assignments. The workshop schedule changes every quarter. Some workshops are offered more than once per quarter; in such cases, the content is the same each time the workshop is offered, so students should just sign up for a single session.
Faculty, administrators, and student organizations interested in requesting a workshop tailored to their specific needs should contact the Writing Center director: mpicciotto@ucsd.edu
All workshops are limited to a maximum of 28 students. To sign up for a workshop, students must be registered with our online scheduling system. If you have never registered before, click on the “Register for a Workshop” box, select “Click here to register,” and follow the instructions. After registering with the system, you can reserve space in a workshop by selecting the current quarter's workshop schedule from the “Choose a Schedule” drop-down menu in the login box or from the menu at the top of the weekly calendar page. Find the date and time of the workshop you would like to attend and click on the appropriate space in the calendar. Enter the workshop title in the “Course” box, Picciotto in the “Instructor” box, and any particular questions or concerns in the “What would you like to work on” box. Should you have any questions or difficulties regarding workshop registration, please send us an email at writingcenter@ucsd.edu.
Group workshops meet in Mandeville 125.
